Am I correct in assuming that darker top bit will be teamcoloured in the engine?

Looks pretty cool so far. Some specular/normal maps can really make that look pretty epic.

It's definitely an interesting concept, but for me it doesn't really have that much priority. When the going gets tough you'll want to quickly address whatever the particular situation you're in requires from your defences. In the thick of battle you'll be using these build-templates a lot less.

Incorporating social networking functions inside Warzone could cause an nice boost to the multiplayer landscape. The problem would be that, in order to login and track your friends, some type of centralised server would have to be set up. If someone wouldn't mind writing this and hosting said server...

Destroying multiple structures is the most tedious action in the game at this time. A fix for this would be awesome. Maybe if you select the demolish tool and pick the first structure to demolish the tool remains selected? Maybe structures can be tagged as "need to be demolished" using the...

Maybe they're vents of some sort?

I think it could give the turret's body a bit more detail which helps make it look a little less generic (not a critique on your model, just the design of the podturret). You've got a few tris to spare anyway ;)
