Re: VTOLS, away missions, and "---BETA: EVACUATE!---"

i like the idea, and agree with it in principle, but it will severely tip the balance of power in your favor once you get to the beta campaigns -- all you do is build a vtol sensor tower and a few pads once you get over, and you're set -- missions could be ended in a quarter of the time, and rebalan...

Re: Typical warzone related color.

i'd have to agree with chojun. orange-red was far more symbolic of wz2100 for me. the logo might have been blue, but all the box-art, magazine ads, etc were orange-red, black, and white.

Re: The invulnerable cyborg!

eventually, imo, our goal should be to make it so that one heavy tank shell will take out any normal cyborg in one hit, but that they'd be almost impossible to hit using a tank if they're moving, and extremely difficult to hit otherwise.

I demand you unexplode, so I can film you exploding Legally acting on his behalf, I already signed all the media distribution rights of the artist's, hitherto referred to as 'Chojun', act(s) of combustion over to Universal, prior incidents notwithstanding. Therefore, per section 8 paragraph 4 of th...

Re: Preventing `Painting'

is there no way the collision detect(terminology?) could be changed to allow vehicles to drive over half builds? realistically, driving over a foundation(as i imagine it) wouldnt be too stressing for any military vehicle. especially one with tracks well, it actually could be -- not in the short ter...

Re: What do you find annoying about the BETA ?

I am not sure that is allowed or not. In either case, I don't think sending $$$ will get anything done faster. that's definitely allowed, and especially encouraged when it comes to the GPL. and even if this community has rules against this, the community doesn't own the code exclusively, so they ca...

Re: Preventing `Painting'

CONs to this are structures are weak when first built. CONs to this are if you pull a truck off a structure(factory or otherwise) , or the truck gets destroyed(by ground or air units), then you will slowly lose that structure that did take TIME to build. i don't see these as major cons. certainly o...

Re: WZ2100's been had :(

You can sell GPL'd software, and you're welcome to, provided you follow all the other provisions of the GPL. It's a very common misconception that doesn't come up very often, because if there's someone selling GPL software, unless they're the original author, you can almost certainly find it elsewhe...

Re: Menu background revived

looks great. i think the lettering on the factory ("f1") shouldn't have such hard edges -- if it were to look just a little splotched or worn around the edges, i think it'd look authentically painted on  :)

Re: Pie Toaster Release

I suppose that's the primary difference between game-specific tools and tool-specific plugins... the game specific tools are going to leave the modder with much fewer pitfalls, but eventually development will cease, and the entirety of the program will stagnate because there will almost certainly be...

Uhm, I'd like to add a little support here, now I'm not really a leader type (or I don't want to be... ;)) and my modelling/coding skills aren't of the quality required to do this stuff... but I do have an FTP server which might solve the bit of the 'problem' :) that sounds fantastic :) at some poi...

are they in the .blend that Deus Siddis upped for me? if not id like to see um, as i got no big ideas bout the prop models. except the tiger. no idea... seems unlikely, though attached is an unfinished copy converted for use with modern wz (i found the more-complete mod, but conversion is lengthy, ...

Re: Re-done PIEs

at the same time, there would be great value in getting it done. as one of those modders, i think it'd be beneficial to suggest to anyone trying this to immediately GPL of CC their work, and give them an upload-through-web-interface account on some server, allowing others to see their work as they g...
