Re: Warzone 2100: Contingency (Beta now released)

I'd upgraded all the mg line ROF, damage, accuracy upgrades as far as I could tell. I didn't research all the MG line turrets though - are the turrets themselves part of the pre-requisites for Rocketstorm?

Re: The Doc's Bio Lab for Scav Experiments - & other odditie

Regarding time line visualisation, there's a nifty Mac app called Timeline 3D which makes putting linear timelines together pretty trivial. However, it doesn't facilitate (at least in the version I have) visual links between items on the timeline or "threads" that run throughout the timeline. As for...

Re: Warzone 2100: Contingency (Beta now released)

1. Wind turbines seem to be showing up as radar blips after I build a radar detector.

2. I'm struggling to get the Rocketstorm turret/defence - any hints on what I need to research?

Re: make usefull hints for new players in loading times

I think you both have valid points. Hints need to be concise - not only will that increase chances of people reading them, but it will also reduce workload for translators and reduce amount of screen space required (eg. When English is translated to German, the German sentences are often much longer...

Re: New upgrades system

Thanks.

Is Stats object separated in to players? I would imagine that the base stats are applicable to all players?

Code: Select all

// my assumption:
Stats.Body['Tiger'].Power
Upgrades[player].Body['Tiger'].Power

Re: New upgrades system

Can scavenger faction Stats/Upgrades be accessed via these objects?

Re: New upgrades system

Is there a list of those anywhere? (still not wrapped my head around C code :s)

Also, what happens if someone forgets to ceil/floor/round a change to Updates object, eg:

Code: Select all

// this...
Upgrades[0].Body['Tiger']['Thermal'] += 10.5

// instead of this...
Upgrades[0].Body['Tiger']['Thermal'] += 10

Re: New upgrades system

I'm struggling to get my head around the WeaponsClass element - are there any examples of that bit? I assume that a given weapon class will reference an array of weapon names or ids?

Re: Coolydudey60's novel maps

Nice map, the scavs sure are aggressive :)

Would it be possible to create an alternate 3 player version for skirmish? 1 human vs 2 AI? With the AIs in two corners (where the 5 oils in an L shape are).

Re: 3.2 JS API Wishlist :)

An AI wouldn't refuse to forge alliances with anyone who has ever betrayed it (which eventually will be everyone) - but it can make informed decisions based on previous betrayals. Either way, I think alliance API will make ski games much more interesting.

Re: 3.2 JS API Wishlist :)

There's certainly no interest in dynamic alliances in ski mode, that's for sure - but the reason there is no interest in ski mode is that the JS-based AIs don't ally with each other, or the player. I think dynamic alliances could add a very interesting dynamic to ski mode. Even if the implementation...

Re: The Doc's Bio Lab for Scav Experiments - & other odditie

It's not that I ridicule or discount the possibilities it's more like the evidence is not clear to me. My feelings exactly. It seems to be a result of large swathes of people shedding the cotton wool that modern capitalist society had wrapped them in for most of their lives, and being faced with a ...
