Re: How to reduce the delay on the network

I don't think there are many booleans sent over the net, and everything is gzipped before being sent over the net, so they would be sort-of packed, anyway.

Re: desync on 10-12m game

Based on the logs, what happened is that addPowerRequest returned true on all computers except for one. Not sure what could cause that, though. It's nothing to do with lag or graphics issues or the synch code "giving up", it's just that all computers calculated the same thing, and one of them someho...

Re: Make A Flash Version For Warzone2100!

Flash is deprecated, even Adobe admits it.

Try making a JavaScript/HTML5 version of the game, instead. You can transpile C++ to JavaScript, but the networking and filesystem parts might be a bit hard to port.

Please let us know when done, thanks.

Uh, I don't get these forums. I disapproved what looked like a duplicate post, and now the original post is gone, too?

Sorry, would you mind reposting, if you still have it?

Re: Out of sync problem, please help

That's not really how the netcode works – at least, not since 2.3.9 which tried to behave like an FPS instead of like an RTS. Things naturally stay in synch as long as all computers do the same calculations, without being saved/loaded anywhere. It's like correspondence chess, you only need to synchr...

Are you sure? Both .wz files are zip files containing only .js and .json files, and it therefore seems unlikely to me that they can contain viruses.

Re: Warzone 3.2.0 #version directive missing

I don't see anything in the logs that says what went wrong. Actually, I don't know anything about what went wrong – did it crash or something, if so it might be graphics-driver related? Don't know whether or not it could help, but you could try the latest warzone2100-master-2017*-*-*.exe from http:/...

Sorry – to do that, someone would have to either refactor the game to make it saner, or find a holy grail.

Re: Warzone 3.2.0 #version directive missing

I don't know what the issue is, but the shader #version number thing seems to be a warning only, not an error.
