Re: How to identify cheater?

I also see another alarming trend where newbies accuse regulars and pros of being cheaters, simply because they are vastly outplayed and they do not understand how they were. There is another pro/regular player who likes to team up with me (and I with him), where we will face as many as 4 newbies ag...

Re: Unit formations

Just saw this thread for the first time. I understand that formations are bigger than a breadbox as far as ideas to implement. But there is one unmentioned useful unit formation--the skirmisher line. It is either directed left or right so as to concentrate fire potential toward the front of the form...

Re: Humans cheat, the AI don't!

Zarel, read this map maker's description of his own map, and pay attention to the oil part. link. Oil barrels are part of the creativity map makers have to make their maps interesting. Not dropping oil barrels in multiplayer would ruin a lot of maps.

Re: Humans cheat, the AI don't!

It's true, there are many asymmetrical maps. But these maps, by their very geographic design, are not balanced. And so the oil drums on these maps are also not likely balanced. Most likely, this is what the map maker intended. The aforementioned 8c-AIAssault is actually a very symmetric map geograph...

Re: Humans cheat, the AI don't!

Scouting for oil is part of the game, just like picking up artifacts. An oil drum may be 100 quick power, but it's only available once, and only when the player takes time to pick it up, or has units follow a path near the barrel happenstance. So it is likley that a vehicle picking up oil barrels is...

Re: Showing how much something costs

The one aspect of the current behavior I really like is when I have little or no power left and I select to produce a unit or research a technology the power bar goes negative (and turns red) by the amount of power I'm short. As my power rises this number counts upward toward zero. This behavior can...

Re: Warzone's power system

As to most aspects discussed in this thread, I kind of agree with what some others said-- if it ain't broken, don't fix it . However, there is one idea I've read in this thread that I would like to see implemented. I believe that this idea would be agreeable to most, if not all, Warzone players. Tha...

Re: flaME -- The Warzone 2100 Map Editor

Just trying out flaME. Question/Suggestion: Is there any way to facilitate a Copy-and-Paste between two different maps or between two flaME Windows each with a different map? This would sure speed up copying desirable parts of one map experiment to a new map. EDIT Also, it would be very helpful if t...

Re: Improvments for the research UI

Then the user is stupid. Sorry but it is true. When a research finishes you get a message. I think you even get a different message when a finished research adds new research options. So you know the exact time when a new option is/can be added. So the eager user only need to refresh the list once ...

Re: Newbie

After you play Campaign for awhile, go back and skirmish the AIs, increasing the AI difficulty (and number of AIs) after each win you achieve. If you are ever online during the times I play, we can do a comp stomp--you and I versus a team of AIs and I will give you some pointers in-game . Also, fami...

Re: find multiplayer games

Yes, there is only one server, the Lobby Server, which is where you go to join a multiplayer game, or to start hosting a multiplayer game and let others join. However, once a multiplayer game actually starts (everyone clicks Ready), the Host's PC is actually the "server" for that game and the lobby ...
