Crazy: random map generator from map chunks
This is crazy I guess, but just had the though that random maps could be made from a library of handmade map chunks randomly put together.
There should be some design parameters, to enable chunks to connect.
How difficult would it be to make a "map chunk joiner"?

Re: Kicking Noobs ok?
Well, as MP noob (but having been playing the game since it came out through the different mod/public domain etc phases) I would say it is ok to kick me, when I some day finally start playing MP. I would rather be kicked than cause grief. Having said that, good players should take time (1 in 10, 1 i...

Re: Stray thought regarding balance...
Well that sort of invalidated my thoughts, rightly so. The thing you mention where a specific unit requires a specific skill is very interesting. Where can I learn more? I am somewhat intimidated by the human vs. human players, I would never feel confident in a 2 Nullbot vs 1 me :-). (I play 1.0 tim...

Stray thought regarding balance...
Being a complete noob with regards to multiplayer (but with a couple of thousand skirmish games), I thought I would contribute as I best could to the balancing discussion. Several places I read that there was need of a simulator. "How hard can that be? There is already AI in the game..." I...

Re: "Zoom out" increase (support Ultra High Definition)
Sorry remembered another thing:
For me personally, the smaller UI is not an issue. The screen is 50'' at close range, so it is not significantly smaller at UHD than 1080p would be at 24''

Re: "Zoom out" increase (support Ultra High Definition)
I am guessing that the altitude is an absolute variable, so that the variable'srange (zoom in-zoom out) does not change with resolution.

Re: "Zoom out" increase (support Ultra High Definition)
I am quite sure I have a partial explanation. In 93', me and my friend made a very primitive 3D engine, he coded, and I did the math. Oh those where the days... :-) The distortion happens because the altitude of the observer becomes lower with higher resolution. Being closer to the geometry means th...

"Zoom out" increase (support Ultra High Definition)
Hi, UHD screens are getting very cheap, and graphics look awesome on them. Wouldn't it be cool if Warzone was one of the first games that actually supported UHD? The game starts up fine, but the problem is the zoom out distance. In order to have any advantage using the UHD (and to be able to play th...

Warzone-2100-3840x2160.JPG I have a couple of cheap UHD screens at work. So I started the game in 3840 x 2150 on a 50'' screen, it looks really special (I would say good, but the game is unplayable at that resolution, since the zoom is weird somehow, way to close). My colleague is holding up his iP...

Re: Warzone long term vision
For the greater good. I do not believe that everybody will play warzone, but I believe a lot more would if they knew about it.stiv wrote: And why is that, exactly?

Warzone long term vision
Hi, First, I am in awe over the effort by the dev community, and the result. Warzone 2100 has been my favourite game since it came out, and I have litterally played over a thousand skirmish games over the years. (I do not play multiplayer for a number of reasons: 1) I suck 2) I have family, and ther...

Zoom further out
Hi, I have been playing your (our?) fantastic game since it was commercial, it is my all time favourite, although I have not yet ventured into mutiplayer online yet. I have the following suggestion: To be able to zoom further out. Explanation: I would find it desirable that I could zoom out double o...
