Re: A New Behavior of Building Oil Derricks

I kind of liked it, but it's honestly not that big of a deal. It was more relevant when playing with AI imho.

Re: hypothetical cheating

That's it ! I'm a cheater ! I plan to cheat on a game that crash on my computer... make sens ! Maybe your game is crashing because you're ummm... cheating? Sounds logical to me. If you were playing with me more often, you know that I added an handicaping "cheat code" to the NRS mod that r...

Re: [3.1+] NullBot: an adaptive skirmish AI

J.Vaughan : ...I believe it's an issue that should be solved on the micro AI level... I think it's on the micro level too Most of the time (when attacking your base or harassing derricks) NullBot orders his units to DORDER_SCOUT (equivalent to a human't Alt+click), which often leads to attacking wa...

Re: NullBot goes through big refactoring

Few thoughts aloud... First, I'm assuming this is a complete rewrite of NB post-3.1 master? Also: I'm not yet sure whether to consider tanks, buildings, structures, and researches separately or simultaneously ... If I'm following correctly, wouldn't simultaneously be the hardest to code but most rea...

Re: [3.1+] NullBot: an adaptive skirmish AI

@ NoQ: When playing with NB I notice that an effective strategy to protect my derics is to build walls around them. NB will send units to attack the derick but not the walls. Anything but indirect artillary will just sit there for a few minutes then give up. As NB uses a lot of VTOLS with different ...

Re: 3.1.0 has been released!

Thanks for yet another great build. Some things I noticed: - Tanks/Droids when attacked won't respond (either return fire or move) allowing them to be picked off unless you're good at watching the entire map. - Enemy Tanks/Droids can sometimes appear invisible, especially if just inside the fog of w...

Re: Switch to Linux?

I've never really been one of those people who disliked vista, to be honest I've never had many problems with it. Windows 7 is nice in the fact that they promised a clean up of the code (which they did) and it does run a lot smoother. The GUI isn't what turns me off, in fact I love it (especially th...

Switch to Linux?

So I've been doing some research into Linux and although I'm not close to finished yet I figured there were a few folks in here that know their way around linux to answer some of my questions. I'm considering putting Linux on to my Dell XPS m1530 notebook but I'm weary to do so because lets face it,...

Re: Researching Defenses takes overly long, which is illogical.

are five flavours of MG needed? (here, i'm bundling AG's in with MG's) can we just drop the 2xMG and 2xAG, and space the HMG and AG further along the tech-tree? I disagree, when starting a map with T1 2xMG are strategically better. You can produce two 2xMG for every 1 HMG in terms of cost. the 2xMG...

Hmm, finally got curious enough to try out the terrain rendering engine, does this trunk still have it?

Decided to download it any way, looks amazing.

Mentioned in this thread, a little bit of an explanation for what it's worth.

Re: Tech Tree

Yeah, the name of the link is self explanatory provided they find the tech tree (which shouldn't be too much of a problem since most people are catching on to the guide by now.) I would notice it, I'm sure others would as well.

Re: DyDoBP: New AI on MultiAIpack

Sounds great, only thing I'm a little worried about is multiplayer. I'm not aware of how you can avoid having someone taking p2 spot (their color maybe?) It still seems a little more advanced than load up and click to play. Are there any other methods of mixing the two AI's ? I would personally be f...

Do you think a "Recommended Research Order" button next to "Expand" and "Collapse" would be clear enough?
Of course! :D
