Re: Warzone history buffs...
It was probably a reference to the strike tower and was mislabeled in the manual

Re: GPL Question- May I use name/story/etc, build from scrat
Most of the money made off of GPL software is from tech support contracts, dual license (not applicable here), donations, or some kind of subscription model (say something like World of Tanks w/o binary distro). The last option though i would need to reread the GPL for though..

Re: iOS Version
It is also possible for GPL apps to be in the App Store by waiving the "freedom to redistribute copies" to Apple. See http://bonsansnom.wordpress.com/2011/01/08/about-apple-store-gpls-vlc-and-betrains/ Then you didn't read the article closely enough. The only way to comply with the GPL is...

Another is size difference. At least when comparing towers to hardpoints.

Re: The Doc's Bio Lab for Scav Experiments - & other odditie
Quick question, have you tried submitting any of your short stories to tor.com for publication?
Anyway, looks like everything is coming along rather well on the map. The level of detail is very nice at a distance, how does it look close-in?

Re: Warzone 2100 Dedicated Servers
The best example of client/server outside of an mmo that I know of is the Neverwinter Nights dedicated server. It runs I believe up to 64 connections and has a small bandwidth requirement. Also runs all created mods not using custom content w/o needing said mod on the client machine.

Re: Pre Collapse Structure
Wasn't there or is there an "I Win" code? Would be the simplest solution.

Re: SteamOS
Well the linux community has wanted steam and win32 game ports for ages. OSX gets windows game but poor linux gets left in the dark. Now that OSX is based off the unix/linux style kernel I don't see why more developers haven't already ported more AAA titles over. If it does happen though.. More mone...

Re: SteamOS
This could be the big push the publishers need to develop more games that support OSX, Win32/64, and Linux. Now.. if only the OpenGL committee and the devs from directx can make it easier to code for both. Or better yet Intel can get off their butts and give everyone better opengl performance and st...

Stratadrake, the original author, was working on an updated PIE Slicer but alas I do believe RL whisked him away

Re: C&C .MAP -> Wz2100 map format converter?
I doubt one does exsist. As for formats... Has anyone in the C&C community actually figured out how that map format works? Haven't played C&C since RA2 and even then they only used 2D maps. In any event, even if it was possible I don't see anyone from either community wanting to bother putti...
