Re: Skirmish mode : why I never user ground units or VTOLs

Hi all, Here is a post to simply explain why I hate using ground units or VTOLs in skirmish mode. I never tried multi so maybe it's different. 1. VTOL regularly destroy themselves when bombing high building (fortress, control center, etc.) They get hit by their own bombs. It happens more often when...

Try running the Activity Monitor, and check your RAM utilization.

Re: Trunk Code revision 8190: No rotating radar dishes

Oh, you want real life examples? Like right before software release, a code freeze has been instituted, and some twit checks in something that crashes on startup, and if they'd bothered to do a get from the frozen codebase they'd have known about it? Or worse, they did a get, made the change and che...

Trunk Code revision 8190: No rotating radar dishes

In trunk code versions 8178 and 8190, radar dishes no longer exist. Thus they no longer rotate.

I'm sure someone will claim the buildings in question weren't complete, but they are.

Re: Trucks auto building on non-burning oil resources. And more

I'm inclined to say "no." For one thing, it could lead trucks going into trouble. Secondly, leaving oil resources untapped is a good trap for opponent's trucks, especially the AI, and I'd like to keep that possibility.

Re: Building with Snow Leopard and Xcode 3.2

No, that doesn't work. I get errors akin to the following: In file included from /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.5.sdk/System/Library/Frameworks/Carbon.framework/Frameworks/HIToolbox.framework/Headers/CarbonEventsCore.h:24, from /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.5.sdk/System/Library/Frameworks/Carbon.framework/Fram...

Re: Building with Snow Leopard and Xcode 3.2

I'm using: xcodebuild -project Warzone.xcodeproj -target Warzone -configuration Release -sdk macosx10.4 I'm also using Xcode, although you have to remember to compile for target i386 instead of ppc. Unfortunately that doesn't work either for the following reason (error generated by attempted compil...

Re: Building with Snow Leopard and Xcode 3.2

What command line are you using to do the compilation?

I still cannot compile successfully unless I use GCC 4.0 and build for the SDK 10.4. This is using a fresh get from trunk, revision 8167.

I always knew people like us should be committed.

Edited to add...

Yes. Snow Leopard builds are working. Wasn't aware there was an issue, but I haven't done a build in a few weeks.

Re: Help me compile Warzone on Mac OS X 10.6!

I installed Xcode with 10.4 support, and I tried 10.4 first; it wouldn't even start compiling. Here's the error: Oh, yeah. As I mentioned in my original thread about building under OS X 10.6, don't use GCC version 4.2. Specify version 4.0. http://forums.wz2100.net/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3641 No id...

Re: Help me compile Warzone on Mac OS X 10.6!

Hey, guys! So I'm not going to have access to my Windows machine anytime soon, so I'll need to figure out how to compile Warzone on Mac OS X if you want me to fix any of the 10-or-so outstanding bugs I'm planning on fixing. ;) Right now, I'm compiling with: xcodebuild -project Warzone.xcodeproj -ta...

I don't agree. In Skirmish mode, when the AI develops offensive capability so much faster than you can, decent defenses can still win.
