I'm having the same problem. I'm running MacOS 10.4 on an eMac G3. It's not overclocked at all and has 1GB of RAM. I just barely downloaded the version on the homepage, whichever version that is. Upgrade mini-pod's accuracy and damage, and get the mini-rocket artillery. There seems to be something else, because I usually research all the rockets the game lets me and I always end up with the ripple rockets and the pulse laser before I find the lancer lately.
