Re: Game Segfaults on Startup - This is TOO a bug

Interesting backtrace... Did you "make distclean" before doing the rest? I don't know if this is needed, but your callstack seems to be literally non-existant... Well, I just tried the new 2.07-r1 release and it would seem that somewhere along the lines the problem was addressed.  I just wanted to ...

Re: Game Segfaults on Startup - This is TOO a bug

Hm, your backtrace is missing all important information, ie. function names. Are you sure you have actually run your compiled version, and it is not stripped? Even the libraries (if any are involved, and by the depth of the backtrace I guess some are) seem to be stripped. Gentoo optimization at its...

Which drivers are you referring to, DRI or propietary?
Thats because I have an ATI 9200SE using DRI (Mesa 6.4.2) and it causes lockups every now and then, which is quite uncomfortable.

The PDF file I attached on my original post is actually a gzipped text file (gz) with the backtrace.  Just rename it to warzone2100.strace.gz

Re: Game Segfaults on Startup

...I'm glad to know that worked for you and that you can confirm it's a driver issue.  However, that's hardly a solution unless games are your first priority in life and your computer is a dedicated "Warzone Gaming Platform".  I need open drivers to guarantee zero funny business, in other words I do...

Game Segfaults on Startup

Warzone versions (2.0.4 and 2.0.5-rc1) segfault on startup right after opening a window or grabbing the full screen. I am running it on Gentoo Linux with a 2.6.17 kernel, Pentium4 (no HT) Processor (82845 Intel Mainboard chipset), and ATI Radeon 9800Pro video card with the open-source R300 drivers. ...
